Prof. Dr.SweSwe Aye

Steering Committee Member of Multistakeholders Forum

Prof. Dr. Swe Swe Aye is currently undertaking the responsibility of the Chairperson of the
Ayeyarwady River Basin Research Organisation (ARBRO), and a former/auxiliary AG
Member of the National Water Resources Committee (NWRC). She is also a member of the
Committee for Quality Control of High-rise Building Projects (CQHP); Chairperson of Green
Building Technical Committee (GBC) of Building Engineering Institute (BEI) in MES, Yangon;
member of Myanmar International Consulting Engineers Group (MICEG); and member of
International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS).
Prof. Swe is a spatial planner and Architect by training who had worked for the Yangon
Technological University (YTU) for many years in various capacities including Professor and
Pro-rector posts. She has over 30 years of experience in various capacities, worked as
university teacher in Yangon and Mandalay, held a number of responsible positions during
her 30 years long career. She also worked for the GIS Remote Sensing Center in YTU as
Director and was involved in non-structural measures of flood protection. She has been
awarded as Fellow of the ASEAN Academy of Engineering and Technology (AAET), and
Patron of the association of Myanmar Architects (AMA). She is currently teaching
specialized subjects for Master and post graduate diploma courses on Urban Planning and
Urban Design in the Department of Architecture at Mandalay Technological University (MTU)
as visiting senior professor.
